A shared room is harder than a single workstation, and the bridge for an external client is a deliberate compromise that must be decided in advance.
The problem
The room is booked by many, used irregularly, and its equipment is shared between functions with different needs — and participants arrive with their own equipment expecting to put it on the screen. It is often against the façade, because it needs daylight. Dwell time for an adversary outside is unlimited; for one inside the room it is the length of a meeting, which is enough to leave something behind.
A briefing at a classified level with picture from a protected client, in a room used the same week for an open review.
EDID. The presenter’s laptop shows the wrong resolution or no picture at all, and somebody swaps in an ordinary HDMI cable past the diode so the meeting can start. The whole pattern exists to prevent that moment.
The external client is the hole in the architecture, and it is a decision to be made before the meeting, not during it.
Appropriate level: TEMPEST Level A / RÖS U1 if the room faces a façade or a space outsiders can reach. Otherwise TEMPEST Level B / RÖS U2.
How it is built
The bridge for an external client is a deliberate compromise, decided in advance and written down.
