How it is built
Used in these environments
- Embassy or mission in an urban settingThe environment offers no inherent protection: there is no controlled zone to count on.
- Mobile command postThe zone moves with the vehicle, and the boundary is decided where the vehicle happens to stop.
- Naval vesselA hull is an electromagnetically dense environment where every cable run is shared with something else.
- Agency office in a shared buildingThe power supply belongs to the property, not to the tenant — and conducted emission does not need to pass through the wall.
- Field workstationThere is no room, no wall and no property owner — the zone has to be carried along.
How it works
Everything inside the zone boundary carries the level, and the weakest device sets it. There is no such thing as a mostly approved workstation.
The chain, not the computer
Client, displays, keyboard, mouse, audio, camera, telephone, printer, copier, document camera, media transfer, cabling and ergonomic accessories. Each one is either approved at the level or it is the reason the installation is not.
What crosses the boundary
Signal paths cross as light. The mains supply crosses as copper, always, and that is the conductor a filter has to handle. An approval covers the unit; it does not cover the installation the unit sits in.
