The problem
What makes it hard
This is the underestimated environment and the best illustration of the level describing the environment. The neighbour behind the plasterboard is unknown and can be replaced without the agency being asked. The electrical supply is shared. Ventilation, lifts, fire alarms and access control belong to the property owner and have cabling running through the premises. The stairwell is common. The property owner has a contractual right of access. Dwell time for an adversary who rents the space next door: unlimited, and entirely legitimate.
Appropriate level: TEMPEST Level A / RÖS U1, even where the work handles information at a lower classification.
The lease is a protective security document. The right of access, the right to run new containment, and the right to let the adjoining space belong in the security analysis.
