The problem
What makes it hard
The hull shields against the outside world and is at the same time a common conducting structure that ties everything on board together. Cabling shares trunking with weapons, navigation and machinery systems. The crew lives on board, which means the zone is never empty. An adversary alongside or in an accompanying vessel gets close; one at sea does not.
Appropriate level: TEMPEST Level A / RÖS U1 in the communications space, TEMPEST Level B / RÖS U2 in adjoining spaces.
