The problem
What makes it hard
The hardest environment in this catalogue. The adversary can walk up and touch the vehicle. The vehicle is parked unattended during pauses. There is no controlled zone at all — only sheet metal. Dwell time: as long as the vehicle stands still. Risk of discovery: low in a civilian setting, high in a deployment area.
Appropriate level: TEMPEST Level A / RÖS U1 on what is permanently installed, TEMPEST Level B / RÖS U2 on portable equipment that has to survive the field.
Earthing against the chassis. The vehicle is a conducting structure that both shields and conducts. Fiber solves the signal path; the power supply is not solved by it.
