The problem
What makes it hard
A home cannot be zoned. The neighbour is on the other side of the wall, the consumer unit is shared with the whole building, and there is no control over access — family, tradespeople, cleaning, deliveries. The equipment stands unattended for most of the day. Dwell time for an adversary in the neighbouring flat: unlimited. Risk of discovery: zero.
Appropriate level: the honest answer is that no level solves this. A thin client reduces the consequence of a break-in or a theft; it does not create a zone.
How it is built
Remote computer: KVM over fiber
The zone shrinks to the presentation surface, and the desk becomes an extension of the computer.
