One-way data transfer

Any connection that can carry data in can carry an attack in. Logs, measurements and reports often need to leave a protected network – but nothing must ever be able to travel back.

The application

A data diode enforces one-way flow physically: the sending side has only a transmitter, the receiving side only a receiver. There is nothing to configure and nothing for an attacker to exploit. Fibersystem builds data diodes at speeds from 100 Mbit to 1 Gbit – as stand-alone units, 19-inch rack modules, rugged field units and HDMI variants – complemented by middleware for protocol support and secure data taps for monitoring.

Typical deployments: log export from classified networks, one-way publishing between security domains, tamper-proof collection from industrial control systems.
