The problem
What makes it hard
Market data and order flow have to reach analysis, risk monitoring and archiving without the analysis environment being able to affect the trading system. The same applies to plain distribution of price data to many receivers where no receiver may send anything back.
Latency is a functional requirement here, not an inconvenience. This is the one environment where middleware buffering can be disqualifying in itself, and where the design therefore keeps strictly to UDP flows that pass directly. The catalogue publishes no latency figures; ask for them.

Log export and evidence retention
Syslog passes natively without middleware, and the chain of custody gets stronger as a side effect.
